Clinical Chemistry Hematology

ADC Clinical Chemistry and Hematology Laboratory

Fast and accurate testing run by experienced clinical chemists and analysts.

Our Clinical Chemistry and Hematology team analyses blood, urine and other body fluids for GPs and specialists across Curaçao and the region.

The department covers clinical chemistry, immunology and hematology, with most requests coming from primary care.

What We Do

Our experienced team carefully examines blood and other bodily fluids. Through digital systems, healthcare providers can easily make requests and receive results quickly.

Clinical Chemistry: insight into your health

Within clinical chemistry, we analyse more than 100 substances in blood, urine and other body fluids, such as glucose, cholesterol, kidney and liver values and inflammation values. These tests provide quick and reliable insight into the functioning of organs and hormones, and help doctors to make a more targeted diagnosis and start treatment.

Hematology: Examination of the blood count

Hematology: Examination of the blood count In haematology, we focus on blood cells such as red and white blood cells and platelets. With techniques such as automatic cell analysis, microscopic examination, coagulation tests and flow cytometry, we accurately map the blood count. Flow cytometry examines individual blood cells for characteristics such as size, structure, and cell wall proteins, which helps detect blood diseases such as leukemia and lymphomas. Together, these studies support healthcare providers in recognizing conditions and determining the appropriate treatment.

Transfusion laboratory – Safe blood, available on time

We determine blood types and antibodies to ensure safe transfusions. In emergency situations, such as operations or accidents, we ensure that the right blood is available quickly, 24/7.

Specific Chemistry

For specialist diagnostics, we perform advanced tests, such as autoimmune testing, allergy testing, and hemoglobin pathology testing. These studies require specific knowledge and careful interpretation, and provide in-depth insight into complex and chronic conditions.

The Thrombosis Service

The thrombosis service safely and expertly supervises the use of blood thinners, such as vitamin K antagonists and DOACs. We provide dosage advice, control (such as INR), and guidance during operations or other situations. We also offer support for DOACs with suitability, therapy adherence and medical interventions. For optimal and responsible anticoagulation care.
